Peat Moss Explained

Peat Moss has good water retention properties and is holds nutrition well despite it forming in nutrient-poor areas. Due to its structure is has a high cat-ion exchange capacity thus making it a good and forgiving grow medium.

The Science Behind Peat Moss

Peat moss is a type of peat characterized by its vegetative composition. The type of vegetation decaying to form part of the peat can vary, depending on the region and the nutrient content of the peatland. Peat can be used in its pure form or it could be blended with other substrates such as vermiculite and perlite for different applications.

Our peat is imported from one of the world’s biggest peat producers in the Nordic region. Our professional white peat is of premium quality and enriched with wetting agents, exceptionally microbiologically active, and full of beneficial fungi.
